   Dry and identify the location

   Dry the floor and shelves. Note whether water appears after dispensing, ice making, defrosting, or door opening.

   What you want: The timing points to a likely source.

   Inspect the visible water line

   Look behind the refrigerator without pulling farther than the line allows. Check for kinks, drips, or a loose connection.

   What you want: The line and connections remain dry.

   Reseat the water filter

   Use the exact replacement type and install it according to the manual. A crooked or incompatible filter can leak.

   What you want: The filter locks fully and the housing stays dry.

   Empty melting ice

   Check for a jammed ice chute, overflowing bin, or door left open.

   What you want: Loose ice and water are removed and the door closes.

   Check the visible drain pan

   If the manual shows an owner-accessible pan, confirm it is seated and not cracked. Do not remove panels.

   What you want: The pan is stable and dry around its edges.
